Don Clark, KOL Seattle, September 1970 (30:57)
. . . Ah, hit it kid! . . .
[Description by Uncle Ricky, contributed by Dan Packard ]
Don Clark is so anxious to get to the sweet Jello spot that he prematurely ends the first record. Nevertheless, this is a most interesting and too-short slice of the Great Northwest and KOL Golden 1300 AM & FM Stereo in 1970.
There's a mix of what sound like genuine Johnny Mann acapellas and something else on the ID. The promo for Paper Airplane Championships runs one minute and forty-five seconds!
Joe Fiala is featured with Continuous Coverage. Fiala has that classic Top-40 news delivery! This was likely a mono recording of the FM, because it's flat (with some compression artifacts) up to 10Khz. Sounds like they were still playing vinyl. You can catch a tiny bit of alignment error on the cart for the James Gang spot.
