[DESCRIPTION BY UNCLE RICKY - CONTRIBUTED and RESTORED BY ROB FRANKEL]

Certainly, an element of the wizardry of the late Bobby "Wizard" Wayne was brevity, and that is clearly demonstrated here in this RESTORED aircheck from WCBS-FM. The jingle says it's Monday, the contributor says it was July 12, 1971.

Wayne was the essence of hip, New York style, and WCBS-FM was an inspired blend of contemporary music, traditional production values, and exceptional personality — and there is not ONE music-to-music segue in this exhibit. This is one of the "hippest" almost Top-40 airchecks you'll hear, and Bobby talks between every record — even when the segue was so awesome it could stand alone.

Of course, for this presentation, we've lost several minutes of uninteresting commercial announcements (keeping only a few of the nicer ones), and the news, so what you hear here is truly magic, as The Wizard would have wanted. Listen for The Magic Wizard Sound throughout, it's REALLY cool and can happen anytime! Also, notice the way Bobby says "restaurants" (the correct way), and someone tell all - what about living in The Seville Hotel on the fashionable East Side for West Side prices?

This is another flawless restoration and Part One of a Three-Part exhibit courtesy of Restorian Rob Frankel. Thank you, Rob!

[DESCRIPTION BY UNCLE RICKY - CONTRIBUTED and RESTORED BY ROB FRANKEL]

The late Bobby "Wizard" Wayne brews up a delicious blend of uptempo rock, blues-rock and Top 40 in Part Two of this PM drive and early evening show from July 12, 1971.

This segment features a brilliant WCBS-FM jingle with a lyric designed to reflect the listener's personal association with the station. Listen, we think we have found you is a clever way to say We Listen To YOU, and you'll love the presentation of this custom production, weaved into the music. Again, the iPod format had yet to appear on any big-time radio station, and this station ALWAYS provided some sort of identification between every song.

In addition, the Magic Wizard Sound is heard twice, lest we forget the magician making it happen. We can't help but wonder if Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays was a restaurant attempting to compete with New-York based T.G.I. Fridays.

Crank it up! This is another flawless restoration and Part Two of a Three-Part exhibit courtesy of Restorian Rob Frankel. Thank you, Rob!

The late Bobby "Wizard" Wayne wraps up his show for the evening from July 12, 1971. There are a couple of fresh jingles and promos. We're in 101 minutes of non-stop music and the station is always identified between songs. In addition, Bobby reviews the book Johnny Got His Gun, and announces the time for sunset, moonrise and the most prominent evening stars.

This 75 minutes is stuffed with what we know today to be genuine "Classic Rock" standards, plus one genuine Top 40 burnout. The 'scoped version offers an excellent sample of Bobby's work and WCBS-FM formatics, but baby boomers will relish the full version for extended desktop listening, or mobile with iPlay!

Part Three of this three-part exhibit is another flawless restoration courtesy of REELRADIO friend and Master Restorian Rob Frankel. Thank you, Rob!
