. . . how can I miss you if you won't go away? . . .

[DESCRIPTION BY UNCLE RICKY - CONTRIBUTED BY ROB FRANKEL]

Jackson Armstrong and The Gorilla are giving away KKHR Hit Radio Muscle Shirts and Jacksons tickets in this 5PM hour on the last day of July, 1984. It's 72 degrees in Hollywood, the Hit Music of the day is very percussive and break dancing is all the rage. Some younger listeners may be confused, because there is no music played back-to-back without some form of identification (promo, jingle or jock or both). Considered "clutter" today, it was one of things that made Top 40 and CHR radio memorable.

Jack Armstrong died at his home in High Point, North Carolina, on March 23, 2008. Born on December 4, 1945, he was 62.
