. . . something fishy about their caviar, there . . .

[DESCRIPTION BY UNCLE RICKY - CONTRIBUTED and RESTORED BY ROB FRANKEL]

News and nearly all commercial content has been removed, but the music has been restored, and the original aircheck sounds like a studio capture. It's wonderful to hear such great fidelity from 50KW WKBW and the late and legendary Jackson Armstrong.

PAMS jingles and even a few custom Pop-Tops are featured, too.

. . . make you hum all over like a ten-penny finishing nail with a greasy ballpeen hammer . . .

[DESCRIPTION BY UNCLE RICKY - CONTRIBUTED and RESTORED BY ROB FRANKEL]

Again, News and nearly all commercial content has been removed, but the music has been restored, and the original aircheck sounds like a studio capture. More great fidelity from 50KW WKBW and the late and legendary Jackson Armstrong, running full speed on this one.

This was an interesting period of the Top 40 era, when "mass appeal" Top 40 stations stepped into the "rock" arena, trying to be what Top 40 always was — the place where kids heard the hottest hits. Problem was, the audience was simultaneously growing up and getting younger, and it was more difficult than ever to be everything for everyone.

High-profile personalities like Jack Armstrong made the top 40 format work much longer than the music would have allowed.
