Repository contributor Tim Benko passed away in 1998. Tim was a generous and frequent contributor to REELRADIO. This exhibit was received in March, 1997.

Stu Evans is host, and welcomes Ron Britain from previous hours, and Jim Stagg (d. November 6, 2007) and Barney Pip (d. June 1994) with a first-person discussion of the pre-Super WCFL. This aircheck includes the 6-7 PM hour from April 11, 1985, as part of the WJMK Rock 'n' Roll Reunion. The music is included, the spots have been removed. For those who study these things, there were twelve minutes of commercial announcements in four sets.

Did Barney Pip really need a musician's union card to play his trumpet? Was there no "Chicago Sound", only Detroit? And then, "Larry Lujack came in and did the all-night show." Wonderful stories as these Chicago radio legends remember the golden age of Chicago Top 40 on WCFL. Hey, this is why REELRADIO exists, to save the sounds and memories of those who made history on Top 40 radio. Included: reflections and an aircheck of Jim Runyon.

. . . Music is my business, and I hope my business is your pleasure . . .

In Part Two of this exhibit, Stu Evans continues as host on the April 11, 1985 Magic 104 Rock 'n' Roll Reunion. He is joined by The Men From Ten: Jim Stagg (d. November 6, 2007), Barney Pip (d. June 1994) and Ron Britain. Stagg talks about his time touring with The Beatles and Brian Epstein. The guys are also joined by Stagg's daughter Lisa, who sometimes spent weekends with Dad at the station.

Britain recounts his work with Dick Orkin and Amazon Ace, his experiences with Promotion manager Mary Sweeney and an encounter with Dick Clark. Also included: Recollections of Ken Draper and Paul Christy. This segment also includes several short airchecks of Barney Pip on WCFL, and a Chickenman bit.

This is the last hour featuring these three ex-WCFL superstars, but it is only a portion of the WJMK-FM Rock 'n' Roll Reunion contributed by the late Tim Benko. There will be additional exhibits from Tim's original contribution.
