Introductions by Uncle Ricky.

- DEBUT COLLECTION
This week, we welcome another new Collection from Steve Bleecker. Steve spent most of his radio career in the northeastern U.S., but has retired to Palm Springs, California. Thank You, Steve!

Robert Craig Savage, WAXC Rochester NY, 1972
Greaseman, WAXC Rochester NY, 1972
Greaseman, 1983 DC-101 Washington D.C. Composite
Steve Bleecker, WJBQ-FM Portland, ME. July 1983

You won't want to miss the 1983 Greaseman DC101 composite, it's truly classic and funny Greaseman — and almost an hour long! WAXC in Rochester, NY was a hot-sounding Top-40 in the early '70's, and the short WAXC Greaseman clip could have defined "shock jock" for a generation. Robert Craig Savage sounds great! They're all restored AND 'scoped where appropriate, with the exception of contributor Steve Bleecker's 1983 WJBQ aircheck - it's 'scoped, only. It's also our first WJBQ aircheck (after 16 years!)

[EXTRAS] [COLLECTIONS] [SPECIAL REPORTS] [WINNERS] [LINKAGE]

"... Todd (Storz) and some others were sitting around figuring out what they could do on their station and they noticed that WDSU had a program called the Top 20. And they thought if the Top 20 was successful, that the Top 40 would be even better - and that's what they said - We're going to be twice as good as WDSU 'cause we're gonna play - The Top 40."
